AI Search Visibility Playbook
A baseline, a clean entity, answer-first pages and honest evidence. This is the sequence I use for AEO and GEO work, and for my own test sites.
1. Write the buyer questions
List 20 to 40 questions a buyer asks before choosing a company like yours. Group them by stage: problem, options, vendor, price.
- Questions use the buyer's words, not yours.
2. Record the baseline
Ask each question across the main assistants. Record whether you are cited, described correctly, and linked. Repeat on a schedule.
- A dated spreadsheet with one row per question per assistant.
3. Fix the entity
Write one entity statement and use it on your site, profiles and listings. Correct any outdated descriptions.
- Name, description and services match everywhere.
4. Make pages answer first
Put the direct answer in the first two lines of each page, then evidence, then detail. Keep headings as questions where natural.
- Each target question has a page that answers it.
5. Add structured data
Mark up the organisation, people, services, FAQs and reviews. Only mark up what is visible and true.
- Validated schema on key pages.
6. Publish evidence
Numbers with sources, named methods and original data are quotable. Add them where claims appear.
- Every claim has a source line.
7. Earn mentions
Get accurate listings and references on reputable sites and directories in your field.
- A short target list of places that matter.
8. Re-test and report
Re-run the questions, compare to the baseline, and report changes without overclaiming.
- A monthly change report.
